Shopping in Barcelona is a pleasure and exploring the many stores on Passeig De Gracia and Diagonal, known as the Barcelona shopping line will keep the most dedicated shopper happy for days.
The Barrio Gotic and El Born are also great shopping areas, some of the best shops in Barcelona can also be found in these areas.

Start at the top of Las Ramblas in Plaça Catalunya and make your way up Passeg De Gracia and then turn left into Av. Diagonal you will be in a shoppers paradise and will not even have to worry about the traffic.
Barcelona has also still got many small family owned stores that will tempt you with their unique designs. It has an amazing amount of fashion, antique and interior design stores and some very good art galleries.
When you visit Plaça Catalunya make sure to visit El Corte Ingles and the FNAC.
El Corte Ingles is one of the best department stores in the city, there is also another one just down the road in Portal de L'Angel that specializes in sport, books, music and entertainment. There is also a Corte Ingles in Av. Diagonal. They are open Monday to Sunday from 10h00 to 22h00.
The Avinguda del Portal de L'Àngel is a broad pedestrian avenue that is always bustling with busy shoppers. Here you will find everything from shoe shops to bakeries.
If you are looking for big international brands head for Passeig de Gracia, it is the main shopping boulevard and where the Barcelona shopping line starts.
Rambla de Catalunya is prettier than Passeig de Gracia and has a wide variety of shops filled with the most elegant brands. Make sure you have lunch or even just a coffee at one of the many restaurants along the central pedestrian walkway, sit back and absorb the atmosphere of this beautiful Rambla.
You will find the most expensive clothing stores along Av. Diagonal, between La Rambla Catalunya and Plaça Fracesc Macià.
Here you will find many big brands such as Versace, Giorgio Armani, Burberry, Cartier and Calvin Klein, it is just packed with big international fashion names, department stores and design boutiques. If you get hungry and thirsty from so much shopping don't worry... there are also many good eateries nearby.
If you are looking for art go to Carrer del Consell de Cent, between Passeig de Gracia and Muntaner. This is where all the private art galleries can be found,.
Those of you who are into music head for a street called Tallers, It is the first street on the right as you walk down Las Ramblas. There are still a few good specialist record stores left, also check out the gothic style shops further along.
When in The Barri Gotic keep an eye out for the many Galleries and artisan souvenir shops. For more fashionable clothing stores head to El Born.
Most shops open at about 09h00 / 10h00 and then close for lunch at 13h00 / 14h00.
They open again at 16h00 / 17h00 and close for that day at 20h00.
Shops like El Corte Ingles and other department and chain stores do not close for lunch.
In summer most of the smaller retailers will be closed on Saturday afternoons.
On Sundays you will generally only find bakeries and food stores open.
